The Pemiscot County Port Authority was formed in 1975 as a political subdivision of the State of Missouri to foster
the growth of industry along the river.
In 1978, a feasibility study was done by Ozark Regional Commission.
In April 1979, the first director, Col. T. J. Stevens, was hired.
In 1980, the U.S. Army Corps approved the initial dredging and maintenance of the Pemiscot County Port Authority
slackwater harbor.
In September 1981, Hutson, was the first tenant to build.
In October 1982, the first inbound fertilizer barge came.
In January 1983, the first inbound grain barge came.
In 1983, a service road to the Port was paved and sites were created with dredged filled material.
In 1987, a water tower was erected at the Port.
A general cargo dock was built with Third State Bldg grant in December 1989.
In November 1990, a speculative warehouse was built with grant funds.
In February 1991, Xenium, was the third tenant and leased the warehouse.
In August 1991, Unifert, the fourth tenant lease acreage to build warehouse.
In December 1995, Highway D was constructed to provide better access to Port.
In February 1997, contracted with an engineering firm to design rail rehabilitation and construction.
In 1997, the Port recieved Community Development Block Grant for Trinity Expansion: roads were paved and natural
gas to Port.
Completed Rehabilitation of 11,900 feet of rail in August 1998.
In August 2000, the Port acquired additional ROW for rail spur.
From 1996 to 2001, the Port aquired rail right-of-way in phases.
In September 2001, harbor improvement project by USACE for safety and new sites was completed.
In 2002, the Port received Grant for rail signals from the Delta Regional Authority.
