ECONOMIC DEVELOPER RESPONSIBILITIES
AND COMPENSATION
2006
Responsibilities
The Economic Developer
is an employee of the Port and reports to and works under the direction of the Port director.
During and after training, the Economic Developer performs grant research and writes grant applications, administers
grant funds, manages programs and projects, assists in budget development, participates in required local, state, and Federal
intergovernmental relations, responds to requests for information from economic development prospects and agencies, proactively
markets industrial sites and buildings within the Port district, attends local and other meetings and conferences, participates
in community development activities, plans events, reports to all governing authorities, and performs other duties as assigned. Some travel and public speaking will be required.
