The Pemiscot County Port facility is located between two interstate highway systems. Interstate
55 is the first north-south artery to intersect each of the east-west interstate highways west of the Mississippi River.
Completion of the Interstate 155 Bridge between Caruthersville and Dyersburg, TN, in 1976, established Pemiscot County as
a complete intermodal transportation interchange providing direct linkage to all parts of the country. Hayti, MO marks
the intersecting point of I-55 and I-155.

The Pemiscot County Port facility provides an effective entry into the inland waterways. This
slack-water harbor is located at mile 849 on the Mississippi River. The Port Authority ranks among the top facilities
in the state in shipping tonnage due to its strategic linkage to the rail and highway systems. A public dock, fleeting
service and building sites are available at the year-round, ice-free facility. Enterprise Zone benefits are available
at the year-round, ice-free facility. Enterprise Zone benefits are available to all tenants of the Port Authority.
Rail
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad serves Pemiscot County with access to this nationwide rail
carrier available at Hayti, MO. The Pemiscot County Port Authority has obtained right-of-way for and completed half
of the construction of a rail spur from Hayti to the Pemiscot County Port Facility. Ten Class I railroads in Missouri
provide efficient, inexpensive shipping over approximately 7,600 miles of track, with services to most U.S. cities.
Trailer on flatcar facilities are available nearby, and container on flatcar facilities are available in either Memphis, TN,
or St. Louis, MO.
